About Jamaica CIRT

JaCIRT was established to deliver on the mandate outlined in the GoJ’s National Cyber Security Strategy, 2015.  JaCIRT’s functions include but are not limited to:

  Developing Cyber Security related policy and strategy;
  Developing and maintaining cyber security standards;
  Contributing to the development of Cybercrime related legislation;
  Incident response;
  Incident management;
  Website monitoring and alerts;
  Threat monitoring and management, that is, identifying the sources of external incidents and proposing controls to minimize risk;
  Assisting with the conduct of risk assessment in Ministries, Department and Agencies and security analysis on any reported incidents;   
  Developing Cyber Security training modules and technical documentation;
  Conducting knowledge sharing sessions among other technical personnel on lessons learnt or new findings;
  Analysing logs and other digital content of systems;
  Designing and executing vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits as needed.
